A NEWLY refurbished pub is celebrating the creatives, artists and independent businesses of Winchester with its new events line-up.
To mark one month since its re-opening, The Cart and Horses, in Kings Worthy, has announced its events schedule, including its first comedy night as part of this year’s Winchester Comedy Festival.
The pub’s business and events manager, Bronwyn Anderson, said: “We are so excited to be launching events here at The Cart and Horses. We have been working hard behind the scenes to make sure that we work alongside some of the area’s best creatives and are also offering a full range of events for our local community.
“From yoga mornings to a full night of food, drinks and comedy, we have a jam-packed September and with the support of our collaborators, we can’t wait to see where this takes us.”

The pub in London Road will kickstart the programme with a jazz brunch on Saturday, September 9.
Every other Saturday, the venue will be brought to life with laid-back jazz and swing music from Cinnamon Jazz throughout brunch service from 10am to 11.30am.
As well as dishes such as Smashed Avocado Sourdough Toast, served with poached eggs, lime and chilli flakes, guests can enjoy classic-cocktails, or soft or hot drinks.
The team will once again be working alongside James Greig and his sustainable flower farm and floral studio, Stem and Green, to put together a Floral Brunch on Wednesday, September 13. With 20 spots available to book, the two-hour workshop will include a bespoke hand-tied bouquet masterclass.
Off the back of the unveiling of the pub’s commissioned paper collage by artist, Jo Burgess of Green Magpie, Jo will be returning to the pub to host a collage class, giving guests the opportunity to create their own postcard sized paper collage.
The session on Wednesday, September 27, will also include a bespoke menu and drinks for lunch.

As well craft events, the pub is launching Mindful Yoga sessions with instructor, Susanna Edwards, founder of School of Creative Wellness.
Every other Monday, from Monday, September 18, sessions will welcome up to 14 participants of any yoga experience level to the restored 18th-century stables area.
Supporting this year’s Winchester Comedy Festival, the Kings Worthy pub will be rounding off its first month of events with its inaugural comedy night on Wednesday, September 27.
More than 60 tickets are available, and guests can also book a pre-show dinner and drinks.
Featuring in the comedy night, hosted by Southampton-based comedian and presenter, Tom Deacon, are comedians, Michael Fabbri and Alistair Barrie, with one more act still to be confirmed.
