MAGISTRATES considered jailing a Winchester man for threatening behaviour.
Allan McGinty, 65, of Winnall Manor Road, Winnall, was initially charged with five offences, a court heard.
Two charges of threatening behaviour, including one at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, were withdrawn but McGinty admitted two others and possessing a knife in City Road.
On Tuesday August 22, Basingstoke Magistrates Court jailed him for 12 months but suspended the sentence for 12 months.
It fined him £50 with £85 costs and a £154 victim surcharge. The penalties must be paid by September 19.
The court also imposed a community order with six-month rehabilitation activity requirement.
