A TV quiz star visiting Winchester has said the city is “well worth a visit”.
Barrister, lecturer and TV personality Shaun Wallace is exploring Winchester’s landmarks.
The expert quizzer, who’s best known as one of the chasers from the popular ITV daytime quiz show The Chase, posted a video of himself on X, formerly known as Twitter, in front of the King Alfred statue in The Broadway.

In the video, the chaser said: “Here we are in the heart of Winchester – the old capital of England. And behind me the only monarch to have the epithet ‘the great’, the one and only King Alfred.”
Commenting on his own video, he said: “Great to visit the old capital of England.
“Full of so much history and with some great shops too, well worth a visit.”
