South Western Railways say (page 4 of the Romsey Advertiser, August 18) that they plan to introduce 'more face-to-face support' for railway passengers.
However, the proposed platform staffing for Romsey (laid out in the SWR consultation document) is:
Mondays - UNSTAFFED
Tuesday to Friday - 6am to 10am
Saturday 9am to 1pm.
This compares badly with the existing ticket office opening times of:
Monday to Saturday 6.50am to 1.30pm
Not exactly an improvement in service!
