A NEW café and art gallery by the River Test has received top marks for its first food hygiene rating.
Meadow opened in Stockbridge High Street, in June, in partnership with Mylo Art, with the aim of bringing a new aesthetic space to the area offering healthy breakfast, brunch and lunches.
Manager and chef, Laura Reynolds, launched the art café with fellow entrepreneurs Carrie Dunlop, a stylist and interior designer, and founder of Mylo Art and Design, Kate Anniss.

Three months into the new business, the team is celebrating a five-star rating following its first food hygiene inspection on Thursday, August 17.
Ms Reynolds said: “We’re thrilled with our first rating. To be a new business and get five stars reaffirms that we’re doing a good job and following all the right procedures.
“We were nervous during the inspection but overjoyed with the result. We’re just waiting for the sticker to arrive so we can put it up in the window. It’s an accolade for everything we’ve done so far.
“We wanted to bring something new to Stockbridge with slightly healthier options and to progress art gallery further. We’ve had a great start, with good positive feedback. It works well because the art pulls people in and then they sit and have coffee and cake.
“There’s going to be more events now we’ve settled in. We’re introducing pop-up supper clubs and there’s an upcoming folk night.”
