Two applications were refused by Winchester City Council planners this week.

In Shedfield Aimee Cross had an application refused for the retrospective change of use of land to Class E (retail) with ancillary office space, parking and new two-storey building. This was at Shedfield Equestrian Centre, Botley Road.

Mr R Paine's application was refused for the proposed change of use from agricultural to Class B8 at Paines Construction Limited, Fontley Road.

An applicant called Dancer withdrew an application for the conversion and change of use of rear extension into one two-bed apartment. This was at The Alresford Linen Company Ltd, Livingstone House, 7 - 9 Broad Street.

All other applications were permitted.

In Bighton, Mr and Mrs Lees had an application permitted for the demolition of existing garage and construction of two storey side extension and garden shed, at Collingtree.

Bishop's Waltham Parish Council's application was permitted for the extension to and redevelopment of existing skate park at Priory Park, Elizabeth Way.

Mr and Mrs Carmichael, in Colden Common, had an application permitted for an oak framed carport to front parking area at The Coach House, Portsmouth Road.

Mr and Mrs Pearce can have a single storey rear extension following demolition of existing conservatory at 9 Whitebeam Close.

Sarah Young's application for a multi use games area on King George V Playing Field was permitted. This is at Denmead Parish Council, Ashling Pavilion, Southwick Road.

Martin Bullock had an application permitted for the removal and replacement of gates, position change onto driveway to allow for vehicles to move off of the highway to operate gate opening. This is at Standon Cottage, Standon Main Road.

Mr and Mrs Clements can have a detached garage with first floor accommodation at 2 Tudor Way, Kings Worthy.

Martin Halverson had an application permitted for the replacement of 2m high wooden fence along the bottom of rear garden (north-eastern boundary) which is in poor repair. This is at 8 Lynn Way.

In Northington, Mr and Mrs Cammack had an application permitted for a single storey front extension at 7 Newhouse Farm Cottages.

Stephanie La Hive, in Shedfield, had an application permitted for the change of use of land and indoor swimming pool at Sandfields House, High Street.

Gary Millineaux had an application permitted to demolish existing roof and replace with first floor en suite extension to single dwelling. This is at Oak Tree Farm, Church Road, Newtown.

In Swanmore, Ray Mead can have alterations to existing garage to add a bay window to the newly internalised office and leisure space. This was at 30 Horders View.

In Winchester, Ian Rummey had an application permitted to site a shepherds hut on land adjacent to 15 Cathedral View.

Mr and Mrs Targett had an application permitted for a single storey rear extension and single storey front porch extension at 6 Nightingale Close.

Paul Wright's application for a garden room at 50 St Faiths Road was permitted. 

Ellen and Michael Vrana can have minor external alterations to the size and position of the garage doors. This is at  Mulberry House, 9 St Thomas Street.

Mark Butt had an application permitted for an illuminated sign using the University of Winchester's Logo and the words University of Winchester. This is at West Downs Centre, Romsey Road.

An applicant called Lindsay can have a small front extension to replace car port at Amberley, Sleepers Hill.

Helen and David Gillingham, at 8 Webster Road, can have a residential first floor side extension.
