WINCHESTER'S newest stationery shop will be opening one day later the originally planned.
Workers started renovating the frontage of the former Paperchase shop in St George's Street on Monday July 31, giving it a fresh lick of paint and installing the word 'Mooch'.
It had been set to open on Wednesday August 30, but has been moved back by one day.
A Mooch spokesman said: “Due to the bank holiday we have moved the opening to Thursday August 31 but there will be a buzz from Tuesday whereby we will be setting up and getting the store ready for opening.”

Paperchase closed at the end of March after the stationery company went into administration.
While Tesco announced a deal to buy the brand and intellectual property, the shops themselves have not been purchased.
Other former Paperchase units across the country have been converted into Mooch such as in Lincoln, Plymouth and Sheffield. They specialise in gifts, stationery and homeware items, along with toys and seasonal products.
A Mooch spokesman previously said: "We are really excited to be opening in Winchester city centre and we look forward to having strong relations with the centre management team and our customers."
