ROMSEY’S Oktoberfest moves to a new home this year, with hosts Romsey Rugby Club promising an "unforgettable evening of revelry, music and camaraderie".
The club, in Ganger Farm Way, hopes this year’s event at the new venue will be the best yet with entertainment from Michelmersh Silver Band and the Isle of Wight’s Hashtag Funk.
Festivities at Romsey Oktoberfest, on Friday, September 15, also include sausages and buns, including vegetarian options, fancy dress and a cashless bar open until 11pm.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own steins and put on their best Bavarian attire.

Organiser Will Riches said: “We are delighted to open our doors to the community once again for our Oktoberfest celebrations.
“The two bands we have lined up will knock it out of the park. Michelmersh Silver Band are local favourites and always deliver entertaining sets. We’re excited to see their German-themed set, which they perform so well at their Christmas shows at the Plaza.
“Hashtag is an excellent band to get everyone dancing after a few steins of beer and will round the event off beautifully.
“I always get asked why Oktoberfest is in September, but it turns out that’s when the Bavarians hold the festival, so we’ve taken our lead from them.”
Doors open at 6pm on Friday, September 15. Tickets cost £20, must be purchased in advance and are expected to sell out and. To book go to eventbrite.co.uk/e/oktoberfest-romsey-2023-tickets-635413046527?aff=ebdsoporgprofile.
