A NEW bakery coming to Winchester has revealed its opening date and job opportunities.
As reported last month, fast-growing chain Wenzel’s The Bakers is moving into the former TSB branch on the corner of High Street and Middle Brook Street.
Large signs, with orange branding, now show that the store will open on Tuesday, August 29 after the bank holiday weekend.
The business is recruiting a shop manager, assistant manager, supervisor and sales assistants, with QR codes on the windows for potential employees to scan to apply.

Established in 1975, Wenzel’s now has more than 100 stores. The Winchester branch will join Whiteley, Basingstoke and Portsmouth in the chain’s Hampshire collection.
The London-born family business offers sweet and savoury baked goods from fondant fancies and unicorn cakes to sausage rolls and sandwiches.
Estate agency Goadsby believes the deal shows there is still a “strong demand for retail units” in the city.
The old TSB unit at 141 High Street, on the corner next to Sainsbury's, has been left empty for two years, with Winchester being one of the bank’s 164 branch closures across the country in 2021.
