TOP electronic music act Chase & Status have been announced as the spectacular star replacement for Sunday night's grand finale at Boomtown.
The top act has been drafted in to replace The Prodigy who had to cancel their much-anticipated headline performance on Sunday, August 13 after vocalist Maxim suffered a “temporary back injury”.
The five-day-long music festival is currently taking place in the South Downs National Park at the Matterley Estate and the massive site has 12 main stages plus hundreds of smaller venues.
Chase & Status, best known for songs such as Blind Faith and End Credits, are an electronic production duo from London consisting of Saul “Chase” Milton and Will “Status” Kennard.
They have had three number-one hits and are one of the most commercially successful acts associated with drum'n'bass and dubstep.

Festival goers have reacted positively to the news.
Barnaby Simms said: "I can't wait to listen to their new tracks on the big sound system, I prefer them to the Prodigy anyway."
Friends Emily Mancini, Nicola Li and Katy Coates were shocked by the news.
Emily said: "I'm shocked, it's gonna be the highlight of my night!"
Katy said: "I can't wait! Turn the bass up!"
Many of the thousands attending Boomtown had been drawn by the promise of seeing The Prodigy and were disappointed when they pulled out, however some, like Poppy Morrell said this announcement has made up for it.
