REPORTER Matt Rooks-Taylor is at Boomtown for the Hampshire Chronicle, here's how his second day went...
The second day of Boomtown: Chapter Two: The Twin Trail was a whole lot more hectic than the first.
I woke up at 6am to ensure I could claim a shower before anyone else, and prepare myself for what was without a doubt a big day.
Still rocking my custom Chronicle bucket hat, I opted to wear a retro Portsmouth FC shirt, which did not go unnoticed as, throughout the day, countless fellow Pompey fans came over to me with a greeting of "Up the Blues."
Having fuelled myself with cereal and coffee, I went on a journey around the Festival, speaking to plenty of people and taking photos of the various shenanigans.

At about 1pm, and after a walk which felt like an eternity, I checked into the Press section and was able to do a bit of work until our Freelance Photographer, Stuart Martin, arrived.
We made our way around the various stages and sets to take photos and videos of the, now fully populated, Boomtown.
I cannot stress enough how much walking gets done at this place, my own phone notified me to say that I had done the most steps I've ever recorded on my health app... and it was only day two.
While I was with Stuart, I received some devastating news - The Prodigy had pulled out of the event - and I spent much of the next two hours chatting with festival-goers to get their reactions, many were genuinely heartbroken.

As evening fell, I enjoyed an incredibly good pizza for my dinner, it was life-changing.
I had made friends with some people from a neighbouring tent in the camp, and we decided to journey into the town itself, to enjoy some uplifting drum and bass.
We tried to get around as many venues as we could that night, but unfortunately, it was a case of so many stages, so little time.
Each part of the town had its own identity, from steampunk to neon.

At night, the colours and lights stood out and created an incredible atmosphere, words and pictures cannot do it justice.
There was a variety of music on display, albeit mostly different forms of drum and bass, but combined with the various themes, created a phenomenal atmosphere.
So, day two is over, and I am absolutely knackered. I just hope day three is a lot kinder to me on the walking front.
