BISHOP’S Waltham Rotary Club will be holding an evening of music and food at the end of September. 
The event, on September 30, will be at the Jubilee Hall with Otterbourne Brass providing the musical accompaniment. 
A rotary club spokesman said: “We are thrilled that Otterbourne Brass are working with us again for this amazing event. They are a highly accomplished brass band who can trace their origins back to 1923 and have competed at county and national level for many years, and this year they will again be competing at the National Brass Band Championships Finals. 
“The evening will be made up of three parts, firstly a section of music to enjoy whilst at your table with a drink, there will then be a two-course meal followed by a musical quiz where the band will play music from films and television etc. for you to try and identify. 
“Tickets are £20 which will include all of your musical entertainment plus the two-course meal and of course there will be a raffle and also an auction at the end of the evening.” 

BISHOP'S Waltham Social Club is holding a night of stand-up comedy this weekend. 
The event, called Smashing the Bishop, will start at 8pm on Saturday August 19. 
The headliner is Michael Hackett, the opener is Keefy and the MC is Geordie Geoff. 
Tickets cost £5 are available on the door. 

WICKHAM Flowers is holding an 'introduction to floristry' in September. 
It will be a three-week course to learn about the basics of floristry and creating arrangements. 
There will be vase arrangements, a basket of blooms and a topiary tree. 
The course will be held at Wickham Community Centre, and will cost £150 for three sessions. They will be held on September 10, 17, and 24, from 10.30am-12.30pm.

THE next give and take event in Bishop's Waltham will be held on Saturday August 26. 
The free exchange stall, in St George's Square, will give people the opportunity to give and take small household items. 
The stall will be there from 10.30am to 2.30pm. 

WICKHAM Community Centre is hosting a comedy night at the end of September. 
Stitches Comedy Club will welcome four comedy acts on September 30, from 7pm. 
Blind comic Chris McCausland will be there with James Alderson, Julian Deane and double act Plastic Jeezus.

A SWANMORE pub is having a party this weekend, featuring music from the 1990s. 
The Rising Sun will have DJ Paul Jones on Saturday August 19, from 7pm till late. 
Admission is free but the pub is welcoming donations.
