AN impaired driver was stopped and arrested after they were seen "swerving in the road" on the A31, police have reported on Facebook.
They posted that on Friday evening (August 4) officers "were out in an unmarked vehicle and came across a vehicle travelling along the A31 Westbound near the Boomtown site. It was hogging the outside lane and swerving in the road".

A marked police car stopped the vehicle and the driver, who appeared impaired, failed a drug wipe test.
They were arrested and taken to Basingstoke Custody to provide a blood sample. The driver was released under investigation pending the results of the blood test.
It is understood that the individual arrested has no links to Boomtown, which begins next week on August 9.
