A ROMSEY choir recently toured northern Italy, taking in a variety of sights and performing a range of concerts.
On Monday July 24, 60 members of Romsey Youth Choir together with their director and accompanist Marion and Chris Maxey and six accompanying adults travelled to Brescia.
The next day, after a swim and exploring the town, the choir performed their first concert in Chiesa di San Cristo.
The church provided an evening meal for the choir and chaperones before the evening concert in the building known as the Sistine Chapel of Brescia.
The choir sang a programme of sacred music to a large and appreciative audience. The next day they headed north to the Dolomites and took a cable car up Mount Plose.

The tour culminated with the choir singing the evening mass in St Mark’s Basilica.
The choir’s director Marion Maxey said: "This was an amazing tour and it was an honour to be away with such an incredible group of young people, we packed so much into our time and they loved all the experiences and sang so well. The manager of our second hotel kept complimenting us on how well-behaved all the young people were. We could not have done this of course without the incredible team of adults who supported us throughout this tour. There will be the opportunity for new members to join the youth choir in September, if anyone would like more information please contact us on md@romseyyouthchoir.org.uk or through our website."
