Civic chiefs have "agreed" to trigger the development of the Station plans.
And the city council has agreed to move forward with a "master plan" releasing £295,000 to serve the planning fund.
Once again, I have the impression that the city council essentially agreed to proceed without genuine public consultation. It reminds me of Bushfield Camp.
The planning cost alone is enormous, and the council is seeking £150m "regeneration" of land around the station.
Has there been public consultation?
I am most concerned that yet another major project will proceed without proper scrutiny.
Winchester is a fine city. Every major plan needs real scrutiny, not just words.

Letter editor's note: It is important to note that the city council has agreed to prepare a masterplan for Station Approach. These are very early stages.
