CAPS and gowns were in style as students from the School of Art graduated today (July 20).
Held at Winchester Cathedral, hundreds of students, alumni and family and friends attended the event, celebrating the class of 2023.
Graphic arts and illustration graduate Charlotte Connelly called the ceremony “absolutely beautiful”.
“It meant a lot to have such a lovely venue for a degree I completed on Teams!”
Game design and art graduate Jake Derry added: “It is an achievement to have got here because of all the hardships. We started our degrees in the midst of a global pandemic, so to have achieved what we all have is incredible.”

Jessie Hill, who graduated with a degree in illustration, attended the ceremony with her canine partner assistant dog Oscar. She said the ceremony was “really good”, adding: “It was fun and Oscar enjoyed it!”
Fashion and textile design graduate Robert Hart said: It was very exciting; I have no words to describe it. I am very happy my mum could be here. We’re going to go out and celebrate!”
Izzy Buckwald, who graduated with a degree in graphic arts and illustration, said: “I was nervous, but it was nice to get to see everyone today!”
PHD graduate Ravi Dixit added: “It was awesome. We loved it!”
