A SALON has finally re-opened in its new home following a six-month wait for council approval.

Emma Scott Beauty has moved from Basepoint Business Business Centre, in Romsey, to a bigger and cheaper unit in North Baddesley.

After six months of waiting for the Test Valley Borough Council to agree the change of use for the space in Botley Road and a complete revamp, it welcomed customers on Monday, July 10.

Salon owner Emma Scott hopes the new premises will allow the business to continue to grow and offer more treatments like laser hair removal and a wider range of skin care.

Ms Scott, 32, said: “It was a no-brainer because the rents got really high at Basepoint and the parking charges too. Here is slightly cheaper with considerably bigger premises and parking on the driveway.

“We outgrew where we were and the new unit used to be a dentist so the size was perfect and already had two treatment rooms.

“We’re really happy. The new look has turned out exactly how we wanted. We’ve completely redecorated, brightening up the space and making it a bit more open plan. We’re pretty much there, with just a few more finishing touches to do.

“Our customers have loved it. It’s so much nicer having more space and we already had lots of clients from North Baddesley who are now just a short walk away. We’re only up the road from Basepoint where we built up our client base so hopefully we can continue to do so.

“Beauty is always something that people allow themselves to spend money on. Customers include feeling good in their budget so lucky for us we’ve been able to thrive.”

Emma Scott, from Lordswood, in Southampton, started her business six years ago, renting out treatment rooms before moving into Basepoint at the beginning of 2019.

The beauty therapist and her three colleagues offer treatments such as gel manicures and pedicures, nail enhancements, nano-bladed brows, massages and facials and eyelash extensions.
