AUDITIONS for the Sutton Scotney 2023 pantomime will take place on Sunday, July 23 and Sunday, July 30.

The auditions will be held at the Victoria Hall, Wonston Close, and will last from 4pm to 7pm. Anyone interested in helping with props, choreography or costumes is asked to contact Marie McPherson on 07890 328756 or email her at mariemcpherson75@gmail.com.

This year’s pantomime will be The Wizard of Oz and will be performed from December 7 to December 10.

THE next Holy Trinity Pop-up Café will be at the Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney on Wednesday, August 2 from 9.30am to midday. The café will be supporting The Countess of Brecknock Hospice.

Located in Andover, the hospice provides palliative and end-of-life care to adults suffering from life-limiting illnesses who live in Andover, Stockbridge and the surrounding area, as well as offering comfort and support to their loved ones.

WONSTON Community Café will return to the Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney on Wednesday, July 19. The café will be selling coffee, cake and tea to support the Victoria Hall Fund and will last from 9.30am to 12noon. It will then go on hiatus in August before returning on September 20.

THE Micheldever Festival is set to return on September 9.

The festival will take place at St Mary’s Churchyard and will last from 3pm to 7pm. There will be an array of attractions, including local performing arts, a real ale tent, a barbeque, a jazz band anda children’s zone.

There will also be a baking competition for teenagers and a Dever Valley Photographic Competition.

THE Warren Centre, at Micheldever Station, is hosting a car boot sale on July 15.

The sale will last from 10am to 2pm, with pitches costing £5 each. Tea, coffee, cake and soft drinks will be available. For more information, email info@thewarrencentre.co.uk.

SOUTH Wonston Parish Council has announced that the defibrillator normally outside the Pavilion is currently out of action while it undergoes repairs.

According to the council the repairs are scheduled to last approximately seven weeks.

THE Church Pantry Food Bank is open in Sutton Scotney in the shed next to the Coach and Horses.

It is open three times a week – Mondays 5pm to 7pm, Wednesdays 2pm to 4pm and Fridays 9am to 11am.

The food bank offers non-perishable food, hygiene and household products at no cost for those who need help in providing for themselves or their family.

The initiative is run by Wonston Church by permission of the pub’s landlord David and is stocked through donations by local residents.
