A WINCHESTER man has won a cross-country ultramarathon from Oxfordshire to Avebury Rings.
David Gaskell, 40, completed the run, Race to The Stones, in 8 hours, 20 minutes and 6 seconds on Saturday, July 8.

A member of Winchester and District Athletics Club, David managed to out pace almost 2,000 other entrants to the race and take first place.
A former student of Kings' School and Peter Symonds, David currently works for the engineering firm RE Thompson Ltd. He enjoys running in his spare time.
Stretching for 100km from Lewknor in Oxfordshire to the Avebury Rings, Race to The Stones follows one of the UK’s oldest trails across the country. The ultramarathon boasts a 90 per cent completion rate, with a mixture of woodland, riverside and ridge trails.
