TRANSITION Town Romsey has revealed a new pop-up art installation as part of the Romsey Festival.
Called Bicycle Alley, the installation aims to encourage residents to consider cycling as a way to reduce their carbon footprint, either by cycling to the station or taking their bike on the train.
The installation has been created from old wheels taken from bicycles of different sizes and decorated with an array of recycled materials.

For the duration of the festival, the majority of the wheels will be displayed on the boundary fence at Transition Town Romsey’s Community Allotment, near the train station. Others have been incorporated into the raised vegetable beds with a variety of functions, for example acting as supports for beans to grow on.
The wheels were created by a range of local causes. These include creations by Romsey Young Carers, Romsey Family Support Group, Gateway, Dimensions Supported Living and Greenbuttercup Dementia Services.
The installation is free to view and will be on display until the end of Romsey Festival on July 16.
