A LAW firm raised more than £4,500 for a cancer support centre through a free wills scheme.
Parker Bullen solicitors, which has offices in Romsey, Andover, Salisbury and Witney, teamed up with Jane Scarth House in Romsey for Free Wills Month.
The scheme allowed individuals to have their wills professionally drafted with no legal fees throughout March with the aim of making will writing accessible and affordable and addressing the barriers some may face when taking the first steps in writing a will.
Customers were instead encouraged to support Jane Scarth House through voluntary donations, with £4,530 being raised in total.

Solicitor at Parker Bullen, Hannah Goodeve, who oversaw the scheme with colleague Chris Smith, was impressed by the generosity of participants. She said: "We are thrilled to have witnessed such an incredible response to our free wills scheme. It has been heart-warming to see members of our community coming forward to support Jane Scarth House while taking care of their personal legal affairs."
Jane Scarth House was founded in 1995, in memory of Romsey resident and mother of two, Jane Scarth, whose family remains closely involved with the charity.
The team take pride in providing valuable emotional and practical support to anyone whose life is affected by cancer, whether that is the person living with cancer, or a family member, close friend, carer or partner.

Centre manager Rachel Tucker said: “We are completely bowled over by the support of Parker Bullen and the generosity of their clients who have donated to Jane Scarth House through the Free Wills Scheme.
“The amount raised is incredible and will provide 167 counselling appointments to our clients which will fund the sessions for one month. All of our services are provided free of charge to anyone who is affected by cancer and we rely on the generosity of the community who donate items (and buy them) from our charity shop Jane’s, donations, fundraising events and grants.
“Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us and to Parker Bullen for offering this service, it will make a huge difference to us.”
