THE owner of a country pub has said she is “proud” that the business has received a positive food hygiene rating.
The Globe pub, on The Soke in Alresford, received a five-out-of-five rating from the Food Standards Agency following an inspection on July 22.
The pub’s owner Karen Wells said: “As the owner of the business I am extremely pleased and proud of my team to have received another 5-star food hygiene rating.
“My team has a clear understanding of the importance of food safety and were able to demonstrate very good compliance with the legal requirements for food hygiene.”

Two other Hampshire establishments also received hygiene ratings of five following recent inspections.
The Vine Inn, on West Street, Hambledon, received the grade following an inspection on March 16, while the Pizza Hut located on Stoney Lane, Weeke, Winchester, received the same score after it was inspected on June 20.
A Pizza Hut spokesperson said: “At Pizza Hut, health and safety is of the utmost importance, and we are committed to maintaining high standards in all our branches. It is great to see that our Winchester delivery branch has received a 5-out-of-5 food hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency. We are very proud of our team members and would like to thank them for their hard work in providing a clean and safe environment for our customers and staff!”
