Test Valley Crematorium, in Romsey, is issuing an open invitation for people to visit its site on Thursday July 13.

The crematorium is hosting a community open day between 10am and 4pm and is also using the occasion to officially open its newly developed natural meadow area.

People will have the chance to tour the facilities and take a walk in the landscaped grounds as well as to meet the crematorium team and find out more about the work they do.

Robert Metcalf, manager of Test Valley Crematorium, said: “This is an opportunity for people to come and visit our site and ask any questions they might have about what we do here and the exceptional support we provide to bereaved families.

“It’s also a chance for people to see our new natural meadow area for the first time, which offers a peaceful and serene setting for quiet contemplation as well as a home to many species of local wildlife.

“We have beautiful grounds here which are surrounded by nature, and we welcome everyone to come here and take time to pause and reflect within our tranquil setting. It is a fitting final resting place to many, regardless of where or when their service took place.

“The open day also gives people a chance to learn about the wide range of work we do in the local community and the support we give to many local charities and organisations.

“Visitors will be able to join us for light refreshments, as well as just take time to explore our facilities, to pause and reflect.

“No appointment is necessary for the open day, and we very much look forward to welcoming local families to our lovely grounds.”
