AN EASTLEIGH fish and chip shop has been given a new food hygiene rating.
Mike's Chippy on Derby Road was given a score of four-out-of-five after the assessment on May 10.
Inspectors found that food hygiene and safety were 'good', which means the restaurant has a "high standard of compliance with statutory obligations and industry codes".
Confidence in management was also rated 'good'.
This includes a "reasonable" record of compliance, technical advice available in-house, or access to and use of technical advice from trade associations.
Structural compliance was rated 'fair', which means there were some non-compliance with statutory obligations and industry codes of recommended practice.
The grading means that of Eastleigh's 72 takeaways with ratings, 44 have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
