I find it astounding that the owners of the proposed Turkish Restaurant in the old Loch Fyne building in Jewry Street continue to be allowed to deface that iconic, historic frontage with their tasteless advertising boards.

Surely one of the most important roles of the planning department in an ancient city such as Winchester is to protect the many fine old, beautiful buildings that make it unique. Why are they allowing such a travesty?
