THE LEGENDARY Grammy Award-winning artist, producer and composer Nile Rodgers is performing an open-air concert at Broadlands this weekend.

Famed for his work on hit songs including 'Le Freak', 'Get Lucky' and Madonna's 'Like a Virgin' the musical sensation is coming to Broadlands on Saturday, July 1.

Rodgers will be joined by the famous group CHIC.

Here is everything you need to know before the event:

Timings:

The artist will appear at the AEG Summer Concert at the mid-Georgian estate in picturesque parkland by the River Test near Romsey will begin at pm on Tuesday, June 27.

Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the event, which is completely sold out.

The car park will open at 4pm, with gates opening at 5pm. 

Entertainment will start at 6pm, with the last entry will at 9pm.

It should finish at 10.30pm.

Traffic Restrictions:

Traffic restrictions will not be in place on this occasion. 

Roadworks:

Roadworks are being carried out on the following roads, meaning that queues will be likely:

A27, Southampton Road

A3090, Mainstone

The co-founder of CHIC, he has written, produced, and performed on records that have sold more than 500million albums and 75million singles worldwide.

Rodgers is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, and the recipient of six Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement/Special Merit Award.

Formed as the 'Big Apple Band' in 1972 with bassist Bernard Edwards, Rodgers' group CHIC released their self-titled debut album in 1977, including the hit singles 'Dance, Dance, Dance' and 'Everybody Dance'.

His work alongside the industry's top artists have seen him become one of music’s best-loved and most iconic stars.

On Nile Rodgers & CHIC performing at Broadlands, Countess Mountbatten of Burma, owner of Broadlands Estate said: “We are delighted that Senbla are bringing events of this calibre to Broadlands.
