Dear Editor,

As Chair of Carers Together, I thought it was prudent to write to you about our new venture, the Romsey Community Wellbeing Hub, which will open on Tuesday, July 3, with an open day planned for the autumn.

As a charity we have been working in coproduction, for the last year, with Southern Health, the Primary Care Network, the Integrated Care Board, Adult’s Health and Care, Test Valley Borough Council, and a range of local voluntary organisations, with the aim of setting up a community run, Community Wellbeing Hub in our premises in Love Lane, Romsey.

It has also come about because of our work with Test Valley South Locality Health Forum, the Romsey Older People Partnership (STOIC) and work on Romsey Future.

We have consulted with carers and older people, held inclusive events at the Crosfield Hall, and publicised our intentions through our monthly newsletter. We have sent information to the media in the past but have had no response.

Our ethos is to support carers and older people effectively as they wish to be supported. However, over the years we have had to adapt, and more recently, since Covid, we have encompassed support to all who seek it. We have an Information Hub in one of our shops which is proving useful, and the development of the Romsey Community Wellbeing Hub is a natural progression for us and our partners.

I would be grateful if you would publish this exciting development and the attached flyer.

Yours sincerely,

Sue R Thomas, MSc, RN,

Chair, Carers Together
