A COFFEE shop at a farm in West Wellow is celebrating two years of promoting local products and suppliers.
Headlands Farm Coffee Shop was set up around two years ago on June 19, with owners Alex and Alex Bennett spotting a gap in the village for barista coffee, homemade cakes and light lunches.
The couple wanted to create a community hub, post-pandemic, for families and friends to come together and relax in a peaceful setting. The coffee shop has since become a popular spot for residents as well as walkers and cyclists passing through the area.
Although the last year hasn’t been easy, due to the cost-of-living crisis increasing prices and limitations on raw food products, Headlands Farm has sustained its ethos of using local producers.

These include Nunton Dairy Farm, Winchester Coffee Roasters, The New Forest Tea Company and MW’s Cakes and Bakes which are used exclusively for milk, coffee, tea and homemade cakes.
Co-owner Mr Bennett said: “We are proud of how far the Coffee Shop has come in two years. In the last year, we have started building further links with the community including supplying food to other local business functions, opening up orders to our onsite fishing lakes and creating quality hampers for our Lakeside Lodges.
“Our ever-changing seasonal menu means we can offer different meals throughout the year and more recently local children have been enjoying the brand new children’s menu and small low-level natural play area.”
The farm café will be relaunching its weekly pizza evenings with live music on Thursday, July 6 before celebrating its second anniversary on Saturday, July 22 with a hog roast and BBQ starting from midday.
