A DRIVER who caused the death of 19-year-old Mia Wort in a head-on crash has been jailed for eight years and six months.
Craig Procter, 38, was jailed today at Southampton Crown Court after the horrorific crash on the A27 Kanes Hill.
Young mother, Mia, was a passenger in the crash and suffered "unsurvivable" injuries a court heard.
She was rushed to hospital where she later died.
Her boyfriend, who had been driving the Ford Focus they had been in had made attempts to free her from the vehicle before emergency services arrived.

Meanwhile, Procter, of The Acorns, Bursledon was arrested when a police officer came across him stumbling around further up the road.
At the time he denied being the driver of the vehicle and said he was not involved.
He later admitted to police in a prepared statement that he had been driving.
Prosecuting, Charles Gabb explained how he had been drinking in two separate pubs on the day of the crash.
He had also taken cocaine.
Procter went home to his mother's house where they argued about his drinking.
He left, taking his mother's Audi A3 and driving to meet a friend when the crash took place in the early hours on July 17, 2021.
He later pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and aggravated vehicle taking.
Speaking at his sentencing today, Mr Gabb said Procter had moved onto the wrong side of the road at the time of the incident.
He added that he had been going at about 68mph at the time in the 40mph zone and was twice over the drink-drive limit.
In a statement read out in court, Mia's boyfriend, Samuel said: "Not a day has gone by that I have not relived the moment.
"I want him to understand that his actions have stolen the life of a wonderful, caring, young mother."
"I will always love Mia with all my heart."
Mitigating, Audrey Archer said her client accepts what he has done adding: "This defendant knows what the route cause of his offending is.
"He is motivated to get help to ensure that those factors subside in terms of their relevance in his life."
Judge, Christopher Parker concluded that there was "nothing (Mia's boyfriend) could do before the accident and nothing he could do after the accident."

He added that Procter had been driving whilst disqualified and with no insurance, breaching a previous suspended order that had been put in place for an offence of dangerous driving.
Procter was jailed for eight years and six months.
He was also disqualified from driving for 5 years with a four-year and three-month extension to take into account the time he will serve in custody.
