AN ALL Blacks legend wowed Romsey Rugby Club visitors with his stories at an evening of conversations, signing, food and music.
The former New Zealand rugby union player, Zinzan Brooke, was at the clubhouse at Ganger Farm on Friday, June 9 for a Q&A session for the club’s first public event.
The international star known as ‘Zinny’ scored 17 tries in 58 international matches and made the winning drop kick against Will Carling’s England side in the 1995 World Cup. In his ten years wearing the All Black’s shirt, he was a key player in a side that changed the perception of how the game could be played.

In partnership with the charity Rugby For Heroes, Zinny happily entertained everyone with career anecdotes and answered many questions from the audience.
The rugby celebrity spoke for more than an hour and kept chatting with guests after the Q&A.
The club’s in-house caterer provided a curry before an acoustic guitar session brought the night to a close. Romsey Rugby Club will be making a contribution towards Zinzan’s nominated charity, Rugby for Heroes as a thank you for his visit.
The committee was delighted with how successful the evening was as the first event they’d opened to the public.
Next, the club is holding a Downton Gin night, sponsored by Pure Human Resources, on Friday, July 7. For more information or to book go to events.romseyrugby.club.
