The Hampshire School Games Festival, organised by sports charity Energise Me, will bring together 1,400 pupils from 140 schools across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The event has been running for more than 20 years but has recently been repurposed to focus on encouraging children to be active and have fun, rather than on competition.

The participants, aged eight to 12, will start the day with a dance warm-up and parade at 9.45am before having the chance to try more than 40 activities from Quidditch to circus skills.

Energise Me chief executive, Julie Amies will also welcome the Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Angela Clear for the day.
