MARWELL Zoo has tested its snow cannons ahead of this December’s Glow Marwell event.
Despite the sunny weather, the cannons, which were tested outside of Marwell Hall, turned the area into a wintery wonderland.
The cannons were tested in preparation for the zoo’s Marwell Glow event, which will take place in December. Tickets for the winter event went on sale on Monday, June 19, with Father Christmas confirmed to be attending.#
As previously reported, this year’s Glow Marwell trail will include half a million twinkling lights, brand new illuminations, photo opportunities and interactive elements.

The popular light tunnel will be returning, with the winter trail featuring a 36-metre tunnel for guests to enjoy. There will also be treats galore to purchase from the festive food cabins, fire pits to roast marshmallows, Christmas trees, snow machines and more.
Making his Glow Marwell debut, Father Christmas will be spreading festive cheer in his magical grotto (selected dates, subject to availability, £10 per child). Guests can also enjoy beautiful butterflies, colourful clouds and some very special light shows as well as a specially created enchanted tree.
Attendees with Glow Marwell tickets will be able to arrive from 1pm to visit the resident animals ahead of the evening event. The trail will be lit from 4pm until 8pm, and on premium nights will include specially roaming acts.
