A MAN was arrested for dangerous driving on the M3 near Winchester which left one person seriously injured and caused traffic chaos in the area.
Several vehicles were involved in a collision on the southbound carriageway at around 5.45pm today (Friday) near junction 10 at Hockley.
The driver of a silver BMW, a 46-year-old man from Surrey, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drink driving, and failing to report a road accident. He is in custody.

The crash caused severe tailbacks of more than six miles past Kings Worthy towards Micheldever and on the A34 to Three Maids Hill.
Many drivers pull off the main roads to seek a quicker route through Winchester only to snarl up the city centre.
Police closed the M3 for two hours between Hockley lights and Winchester Services at Shroner Wood to allow them to deal with the scene. The motorway was reopened at around 8.15pm
