STAFF from a private hospital in Winchester have been commended for their quality of patient care.
Sarum Road Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, was announced as ‘Private Hospital Group of the Year’ for the third time at the HealthInvestor awards.
The accolade is presented to an organisation whose hospitals show excellence in their delivery of care, commitment to the community and innovation in healthcare.

The latest statistics show 92 per cent of patients who visited Sarum Road Hospital rated their experience as ‘very good’, while 80 per cent of employees would recommend the hospital to a friend.
An independent analysis of Circle Health Group’s hospitals’ hip and knee procedure outcomes using Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMS) showed that Circle’s results were 95 per cent higher than the NHS benchmark and two per cent higher than the private sector average.
In 2022, teams across the hospital mobilised to gather, sort and send medical supplies to six hospitals in Ukraine, contributing to £3m of medical supplies in a year - the largest single contribution made by a UK business to the crisis in Ukraine.

The hospital was also recognised for its commitment to staff well-being and career development opportunities. Across the organisation 292 apprentices successfully completed or began higher education courses with 30 different clinical and no-clinical programmes available. Many of those apprentices came from Sarum Road Hospital.
This is the third time the Winchester hospital has received national recognition for its approach to supporting patients, with no other independent provider or hospital receiving the award so many times.
Circle Health Group chief executive Paolo Pieri said: “The award is a testament to what was an amazing year for Sarum Road Hospital. Teams across the hospital work tirelessly to support patients in their community and I couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved.”
