MUCH has been commented on the exceedingly expensive (between £190 and £210 million) and intrusion upon the South Down's National Park. There is already a large compound; formally green land next to Badger Farm Road for construction work to be executed.
Highways England promoted and built 'smart' motorways against strong opposition by motoring organisations, which caused deaths by lack of hard shoulder refuge.
I personally have no faith in Highways England affording benefits to the National Park considering the massive infrastructure it would require, ultimately infringing upon our precious, beautiful natural parkland. Winnall Moors are literally on the edge of this proposed development.
We cannot afford to lose any of the South Downs National Park. Such beautiful areas can never be replaced.
