THE Cart and Horses pub in Kings Worthy is undergoing a £1m refurbishment. Ahead of its reopening in late July, managers are hosting a series of recruitment open days for bartenders, hosts, servers and food runners to join the team.

As the pub in London Roads remains closed to the public while works are underway, the open days on June 28, 29, 30 and July 1 will be held at fellow Greene King pub The Royal Oak, in Winchester’s Royal Oak Passage.

PERI and post-menopause fitness and yoga classes have started at Littleton Millennium Memorial Hall. Sessions led by ‘The Meno Coach’ Sharon Worth last 45 minutes and include mobility, balance, dual tasking and strength and interval training to target bone, joint, muscle, brain and heart health.

AS the wildflowers in Littleton Recreation Ground’s conservation field begin to bloom, the parish council is reminding people to stay on the wider mown paths in the area so to not disturb the growing wildflowers. Walkers should also check for ticks after being in the long grass.

LITTLETON and Harestock Parish Council is recruiting five more parish councillors. Any “enthusiastic and engaged members of the community who want to make a long-lasting change” are urged to apply. THE Friends of Sparsholt School are setting up a second-hand uniform website. Anyone with Sparsholt Church of England Primary School uniform that has been outgrown or no longer needed is asked hand it into the school office in Woodman Lane.

The school charity will be posting details for the website, which parents can buy second hand uniform from, before the new academic year starts in September.

LAINSTON House is inviting its Sparsholt neighbours for a cheese and wine summer party in the Kitchen Garden on Thursday, June 22. Tickets start from £50 per person and include a glass of bubbly, canapés and live music at the hotel in Woodman Lane from 6pm.

Later in the summer, to mark its 40th anniversary Lainston House will be hosting 80’s outdoor cinema nights. With Dirty Dancing on August 3, Back to the Future on August 17 and Top Gun on August 25.
