A HAMPSHIRE village cafe has celebrated the first anniversary of its opening.
Somborne Cafe is entirely run by volunteers and is based in the Jubilee Room of King's Somborne Village Hall.
It's open every Tuesday morning, form 10am-12pm.
Volunteers serve a range of coffees and teas courtesy of Coffee Bean company in Ower and have recently appointed a new local supplier of cakes and pastries – Fi’s Amazing Brownies, from Winterslow.
Cheese scones made by one of the volunteers continue to be a huge hit. The cafe is a not for profit organisation and provides refreshments at significantly below high street prices.

The overriding purpose is to provide a social meeting place in the village and promote wellbeing among its visitors and volunteers.
Since opening, cycling and walking groups from far and wide have discovered the cafe as well as a steady clientele of locals.
Founders Alastair and Sarah Dodds said: “We are delighted at the success of the cafe and we owe a huge debt to our team of dedicated volunteers who make the whole project possible.”
Grants from Hampshire County Council, Test Valley Borough Council and King's Somborne Parish Council helped launch the enterprise through its early months.
