POLICE arrested a teenager from Portsmouth after an incident in Winchester city centre in which a PCSO was attacked.

Officers were in Upper Brook Street yesterday evening when a man became aggressive.

A police spokesman said: "Officers were on Upper Brook Street at around 6.30pm when they were approached by a man who was aggressive toward the PCSOs.

"A 19-year-old man from Portsmouth was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating an emergency worker. Due to evidence available to police, he has been released with no further action."
