Almost £7,000 has been raised for a Hampshire hospice charity through an online gaming fundraiser.
Throughout April and May 10 gamers took part in Game On to raise funds for Naomi House and Jacksplace in Sutton Scotney.
Gamers took on challenges whilst live streaming to their fans.
If they raised £250, they received a branded gaming t-shirt from Naomi House and Jacksplace and were entered into a competition prize draw to win a Nintendo Switch Lite.
Some of the challenges included: gaming for 24 hours, completing their favourite game in the shortest time possible, undertaking forfeits like dressing up and testing their taste buds with spicy food.
Connor Randall, who won the Nintendo Switch, has taken part in Game On for four years.
Connor said: “The reason I do charity streams for Naomi House and Jacksplace is because of my personal experience with the hospices. Both my brother Scott, and sister Alyssa, were service users in the hospice. Both had complicated disabilities, and Naomi House and Jacksplace helped our family with respite care, as well as support for the entire family. This extended to the unfortunate need for palliative care for Scott. The hospices provided such great care to him, and all of us within the family.”

Connor Phillips, fundraising officer at Naomi House and Jacksplace, said: “Game On is a personal highlight in the event calendar for me, everyone who takes part always goes above and beyond for our hospices.
"Whether it’s gaming for 24 hours, doing crazy forfeits or creating original ways to engage with their audience, they never fail to amaze us. We have seen so much success for those streaming their gameplay live on Twitch and I couldn’t recommend that enough to anyone taking part in the future. The participants this year have raised £7,000 which is an incredible figure. What’s also incredible is that this could provide approximately 304 hours of a nurse’s care. Thank you to everyone that took part.”
