THE sun was shining on Awbridge village, with the return of its popular fete.

The event hosted by Awbridge Village Association (ADVA) saw more than 3,000 visitors and 235 classic cars, bikes and tractors on Saturday, May 13.

Entertainment included Juggling Jake, Romsey Ukulele Group, New Forest Meddlars, Russetts Fairgound and a dog show organised by Hansards Pet Centre.

ADVA secretary Kerry Daley said: “We would like to say a special thank you to all our amazing sponsors who donated raffle prizes and to all the volunteers and helpers who helped make this event the incredible event that it is.”

Association chairman Fred Tucker said: “This year the fete was bigger and better with a record number of attendances some people travelling from as far as Poole in Dorset to be with us.

“I would like to put on record my thanks to the ADVA team, its supporters and all the villagers who turned out and enjoyed what turned out to be a very warm and sunny afternoon.  We look forward to welcoming everyone next year on May 11 for an equally great day out.”
