AN ALL Blacks legend will be visiting Romsey Rugby Club’s new clubhouse.

The former New Zealand rugby union player, Zinzan Brooke, will be at Ganger Farm on Friday, June 9 for a Q&A session before a buffet supper and acoustic guitar session to finish the night.

The international star known as ‘Zinny’ scored 17 tries in 58 international matches and made the winning drop kick against Will Carling’s England side in the 1995 World Cup.

Romsey Rugby Club director Tristan Pattison said: “In his ten years in the famous black shirt he was a key player in a side that changed our perception of how the game could be played.

“Welcoming a giant of the game like Zinzan to our new clubhouse is a great way to launch our events programme over the summer and into next season and takes us to the next level.

“Keep an eye out for our Downton Distillery evening on July 7 and Oktoberfest later in the year. Tickets are available on eventbrite. Peter Jones is lining up more sporting personalities for events throughout the season, and I can’t wait to see who he books next.”

Romsey’s director of rugby and ambassador for Rugby for Heroes, Peter Jones, said: “On the pitch, Zinzan Brooke was pure box office. Everyone at Romsey RFC is thrilled to be able to welcome Zinny to our new clubhouse to hear about his career and his thoughts about the game in this World Cup year.”

The card-only bar will be open from 6pm – 11pm with the Q&A session at 7.15pm, curry and rice buffet-style meal at 8.15pm and live music at 9pm.
