Ukrainian families from the southern area of Test Valley were invited to a social event at Crosfield Hall in Romsey.

Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Alan Dowden, welcomed the families to the get-together on May 10.

Councillors Celia Dowden, Neil Gwynne, Alan Warnes and Sally Yalden also attended the event.

After the social evening had finished, Cllr Alan Dowden said: “It was a good opportunity to meet these families who have been through such a terrible time. They were able to ask the councillors about any difficulties they were experiencing. 

"We will take these concerns back to the borough council to see if we can assist them further. It was lovely to see them enjoying talking with fellow refugees and especially watching the children mixing together.”
