A GREEK restaurant in Winchester has closed its doors for the next two weeks to allow staff to have a break before the summer and undertake maintenance, less than six months after opening.
Yiayias Greek and Cypriot kitchen, in St George’s Street, will re-open on Tuesday, May 23.
A sign in the business’s window reads: “We will be closed from Monday, May 8 due to facilitating the team holidays before the summer peak. We are also using this time to carry out maintenance on the extractor system.

“We apologise for any inconvenience. We will be back open soon and so will the terrace. Thank you.”
Yiayias has been contacted for further comment.
The Greek kitchen opened in Winchester before Christmas after weeks of delays, taking over from Tom’s Deli which occupied the premises for more than 30 years.
