WINCHESTER City Council has alerted drivers to the first phase of a footway resurfacing scheme being undertaken by Hampshire Highways.
The work, which is taking place as part of Project Resilience, will see resurfacing work done on the eastern side of Chilbolton Avenue, from Stockbridge Road to Romsey Road.
The work is scheduled to start on Tuesday, May 9 and is expected to take approximately 16 weeks to complete.

During the works, the footpath will be closed in short sections to pedestrians.
The city council has announced that, in order to undertake the works safely, for the majority of the works it will be necessary to use temporary traffic lights between the hours of 9am to 3pm each day. During the school holiday periods, these hours will not be restricted.
More information on roadworks occurring across Hampshire can be found by visiting the Hampshire County Council website.
