A FOOTPATH leading to a small park has been closed by the city council due to work to correct an unstable cliff face.
The work is taking place on a pathway in Wharf Hill, which leads to a small park between Domum Road and Chesil Street.

A Winchester City Council spokesperson said: “This work to stabilise an unstable cliff face has been necessary for public safety reasons, and with safety in mind the path is currently closed.
“These works may take some additional time to complete as extra care is taken with regards to local wildlife, which is being monitored.”
A sign near the work site states that the work is expected to take six weeks. The council did not give an exact date for when it will be reopened.
