A VILLAGE choir dedicated their latest concert to the memory of a much-loved member who died, spending her last days at Winchester Hospice.
The Twyford Singers donated £1,000 to the hospice from their performance of Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms at the Church of St Cross in March.
Longstanding choir member of 11 years Elizabeth (Liz) Slinn died at 69 in early March having lived in Winchester for the past 40 years.

The cheque was presented to Winchester Hospice by choir chair Ron Finlayson, Liz’s husband Mike Slinn and fellow singer Mary Alveyn.
Mr Slinn said: “It was Liz’s wish that proceeds from the concert go to the hospice in recognition of the amazing caring service that the hospice provides to both patients and their families."
Trustee of Winchester Hospice and consultant nurse and clinical lead for end-of-life care, Maddy Thomson, said: “We are truly fortunate to receive such generosity from our community and are touched that Liz wished for these funds to support our hospice services. A big thank you goes out to all who made contributions on the night and to those who choose to continue supporting Winchester Hospice.”
Liz was also a keen contributor to the Chronicle’s Christian Comment column.
