A HAMPSHIRE woman has celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by her family - but the day was made even more special as she shared it with her great-grandson.
Joan Bailey celebrated her special day at a family gathering in Southampton. Alongside the party, Joan also received a birthday card from the King and Queen Consort.
Born March 31, 1923, in Manchester, Joan moved to Romsey in the 1980s to be closer to her daughters Vivien and Venessa.

She filled retirement as a JP, volunteer at Broadlands, being a member of various groups and spending time with her grandchildren in the New Forest.
But the party was not just to celebrate Joan’s birthday.
The family took the opportunity to also celebrate the first birthday of her great-grandson Marceau Mullier.
Born March 31, 2022, he likes smiling, going for walks near his London home with his parents Betrand and Alexandra and naps. His adventures have just started.
Speaking at the party, Joan said: “I can't believe that everyone is here for me, and I get to share it with the lovely Marceau. And to get a card from the King! Well, I always knew I was gentry!”
