A PAIR of city centre cafes have opened in Winchester city centre.

NAAFI, operated by the Navy, Army and Air Forces Institutes opened its doors to customers on Thursday, April 13.

Located at 52-54 St George’s Street, it occupies the unit which previously housed Rawberry, which closed in March. Refurbishment is currently taking place at the cafe, with a grand opening scheduled for June.

NAAFI is the Ministry of Defence’s in-house provider of catering, retail, leisure and soft facilities management services. The cafes will offer a range of different food items including coffee and cakes.

A military discount will be available to those eligible.

Staff at the café declined to comment on the opening.

Costa was asked to clarify the phrase “team member resourcing”.

Staff at the branch declined to comment on the closure.
