DRIVERS in Winchester will have 21 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And five of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 15 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A34, from 8pm March 21 to 6am March 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 9 to junction 10, carriageway closure for survey works, diversion via local authority network.

• M3, from 9pm November 12 2020 to 6am March 31 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 12, slip road closures for M3 concrete barrier scheme, diversion via National Highways network.

• A34, from 8pm March 20 to 6am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 both directions Bullington to M3, junction 9, mobile lane closures for litter clearance.

• M27, from 8pm October 15 2022 to 6am April 1 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 7 to junction 9, Lane closures for Hampshire County Council.

• M3, from 9pm November 30 2020 to 6am April 1 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 11, slip road closure for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via Highways England network.

• M27, from 8pm July 18 2022 to 6am April 13 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 9 to junction 7, Lane closures for Hampshire County Council.

• M27, from 9pm July 25 2022 to 6am April 13 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 westbound, junction 9, slip road closure for Hampshire County Council, diversion via National Highways network.

• M3, from 8pm July 12 2022 to 6am April 28 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 12 to 11, carriageway closure for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme, diversion via local authority network.

• A34, from 8pm May 19 2022 to 6am April 29 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, junction 9 to Three Maids Hill, Lane closures for drainage work.

• M3, from 9pm November 23 2020 to 6am May 3 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 11, slip road closures for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme, diversion via National Highways network.

• M3, from 9pm December 9 2020 to 6am May 3 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 both directions, junction 10, slip road closures for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme, diversion via local authority and National Highways network.

• A34, from 8pm April 5 2022 to 6am May 3 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Three Maids Hill to Bullington, Lane closures for drainge work.

• A27, from midnight, February 27 to 11.59pm June 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): abnormal load - Essex to Southampton.

• M27, from 6am November 8 2021 to 6am August 31 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to 14, Narrow lanes and 50mph for Concrete barrier scheme.

• M27, from 8pm November 7 2021 to 6am October 12 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to junction 14, Lane closures for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A303, from 8pm March 27 to 6am March 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, Overton to Bullington, Lane closures for drainage work.

• M3, from 8pm March 27 to 6am March 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound, Winchester Services, Services and lane closures for barrier repairs, diversion via National Highways network.

• M3, from 8pm March 31 to 6am April 6, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 9 to junction 10, carriageway closure for, junction 9 improvement Project, diversion via local authority network.

• A3, from 8pm March 31 to 6am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A3 southbound, QE2, slip road and lane closures for drainage work, diversion via National Highways network.

• A27, from 8pm April 1 to 6am April 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A3 southbound, Berelands to Charlton, carriageway closure for resurfacing.

• A34, from 8pm April 4 to 6am April 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 southbound, Three Maids Hill, Lane closures for survey work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
