A HAMPSHIRE company that contributes to anti-tank weapons has received a £43m contract.
Chemring Enegetics UK is set to deliver critical components for the Next Generation Light Anti-Tank Weapon system (NLAW), a weapon for individual soldiers to stop tanks.
Chemring Enegetics UK forms part of the global Chemring Group, headquartered in Romsey, manufacturing high-technology products for the aerospace, defence and security markets.
The multi-million-pound deal follows a £229m contract with Swedish aerospace company Saab and the UK Ministry of Defence at the end of last year.

The Chemring Group, based in Roke Manor, expects to start component deliveries under the contract next year and for the following two years after.
NLAW is a shoulder-launched, anti-tank missile system designed to attack from above. The lightness allows singular soldiers to use the weapon.
Chemring’s chief executive, Michael Ord, said: “This significant award maintains and strengthens our position in the specialist materials and propellants market, which is seeing increased levels of activity as customers re-evaluate their requirements for conventional defence capabilities resulting from the evolving threat environment.
“Building on our already strong order book this contract increases visibility in our countermeasures and energetics segment for 2024 and beyond.”
Chemring is a FTSE-250 business with around 2,500 employees worldwide, supplying to customers in more than fifty countries.
